A loooong day

We had a great day but it was way too long. We continue to meet the different families that are in our travel group and each family has their own interesting story. Everyone has been great. During our tours today we were asked to pose in pictures with some of the Chinese people that were also visiting the different areas - one young boy was in a picture with me then his aunt joined in then another lady - they smiled and laughed the whole time - then I returned the favor capturing them on video - they laughed more and waved. Another time an elderly couple asked - well they couldn't ask as neither of us understood the other - but it worked out they were very happy. Here are a couple of pictures from our travels today - the Forbidden City was very impressive but we really enjoyed the 'rickshaw' bicycle ride through Houtong - it was very interesting.

I am so excited to be able to read about your journey each day. It's great knowing you made it safe. I am praying for all 4 of you. When do you go to the orphanage? What's the process like? I cannot wait to hear all about Emma!

All of us over here, all of your family and all of your friends are with you right now. You are in our hearts and in our thoughts as we await the arrival of your baby daughter Emma in just a few hours. For me right now, it is almost like the waiting at the hospital the night your Joshua was born. The minutes are ticking by...but for this Nonnie...not quickly enough. I know the wait has been long and often difficult for the 2 of you...and now it is almost over. What a day this is going to be! Please whisper to Emma that Nonnie & Poppie love her so very much.

As I have read this tonight, I am reminded of our memories of journey over there, exactly 2 years ago for our China Doll, Adalyne. What a blessing she has been. We know exactly what and where you are, almost every step of the way. To "retrace" your steps is kind of cool, because it brings back all of these memories. Also, knowing that as I am writing this, you have little Miss Emma in your arms is so exciting. You are probably either still in the hotel meeting room with all of the other couples doing your paperwork or you have just gotten back to your room with her and you are going goo-goo, gaa-gaa and still in utter shock!!!! Been there, done that too. Anyway, looking forward to seeing those pictures tomorrow of the new happy family, minus one member here with us. Distant hugs and kisses to you all.
